Unfortunately, Jeff had a fall from his chair last night that resulted in some pretty serious bruising of his spinal cord and additional swelling.
It was very scary. Amanda and Joan had to call 911 and get medics out to the house to help him and transport him to the ICU. When they arrived, Jeff was unable to even wiggle his fingers.
They are still in the ICU today and Jeff has limited mobility in his arms at this time. Doctors are unsure of what comes next.
They are taking necessary steps to make Jeff comfortable and continue to assess the situation. They have him on a constant drip of pain medication. In addition, he is getting extra vitamin K and a strong dose of steroids to help him heal.
I was truly at a loss for words when speaking to Amanda this morning. I hope some of you can find the words to ease some of their pain and worry right now - because they all need it.
They need all our energy right now.
Enjoying our first trip to Lake Martinez, AZ "the river". Good times! Finding our new normal.

ReplyDeleteThere are no mere words to express the sadness one might have when you read such devastating news. I know it is said that God will never give anyone more than they can handle and I trust this holds true for Jeff.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, what each and every person including Jeff can take away from this is ~ friendship, communication, support (monetarily if you can and most of all spiritually), but above all love is the key when you need it the most.
When you know and place God first in your earthly life, he will always show you the way to live down his path of righteousness... God will never change your life for his gift to us is and always has been Free Will.
However, as we all know, the way each of us choose to use this gift, will determine our end result... Trusting through his guidance the Kingdom of Heaven... Amen… ♥
My heart and prayers are with you both! Jeff...you have been such an inspiration for all of us...keep up the good fight....Your wife loves you more than words can express.....You two will make it through this! Stay strong. I love you both so much!
