I wish I could say it's just for a slumber party with all his pals from ICU, but...
Unfortunately, Jeff has been in an exorbitant amount of pain for over a week, and nothing has been working to ease it. So, when he was unable to make his follow up appointment because he was in too much pain to transfer into the car, his neurosurgeon was alarmed since Jeff has had little pain through this entire experience.
Per doctor's orders, Jeff was admitted to Scripps Memorial La Jolla last night. They feel that they can manage his pain and find the underlying cause more effectively at the hospital.
His medical team is in the process of figuring out what is wrong. They see some swelling in his spinal cord from the MRI, but other than that we don’t have much to go on.
He will see an infectious disease specialist sometime today, so hopefully we will know more by tomorrow morning – once they are done poking and prodding him.
We are hopeful that they will figure it out and come up with a plan sooner than later.
Jeff and Amanda appreciate your thoughts and prayers to help him through this difficult stretch.
Jan. 3, 2012, Jeff Adkins life changed when a car turned left in front of him while riding his motorcycle to work. He didn’t have time to stop and suffered a T3 spinal cord injury. He is paralyzed from his nipple line down and now requires a wheelchair to get around. He needs the support of his family/friends during this life changing transition. His blog helps communicate updates on how he is doing, as well as what others can do to help. Feel free to comment, sending your love and support.
